$149 Every Three Months Is Not $149 a Year
Reliable registered agent coverage for Maine entities. Flat $99/year for the office address, same-day scanning of court papers, and reminders before state deadlines.
This is a sales page. Here is the part that is not: Maine Registered Agent.co sells the competing service at $99 a year and benefits directly if you switch. The Swyft Filings figures below are that company's published billing terms, and the arithmetic we do with them is arithmetic anyone can check.
They Are Fast, and That Is the Point of Them
Swyft Filings sells turnaround, and by reputation it delivers turnaround. Nothing on this page claims the company is unreliable or that documents go missing, because we have no basis for saying either. If quick filing work is what you needed, they were a reasonable place to get it.
Read the Billing Unit Before You Read the Number
Registered agent service is quoted at $149. Per quarter. Four of those in a year comes to roughly $596 annualized, and our check found no separate first-year rate softening it.
None of this is concealed. It is printed. But quoting quarterly while the rest of the market quotes annually does something to how the price reads. $149 parked next to a page of annual figures looks like a modest premium. It is not a modest premium. It is about six times what a flat $99 costs, and you only see that once you multiply, which the checkout is under no obligation to do on your behalf.

Maine Runs on an Annual Clock
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereEverything the state asks of your LLC happens once a year. The annual report is due June 1, the window opens January 1, and the domestic fee is $85. There is no quarterly anything in Maine LLC compliance.
Our billing keeps the same beat. One charge, $99, once a year, renewing at $99. What it covers: anything served on our Maine office is scanned before that business day ends, an email alert fires as it uploads, a portal lets you pull any of it back out, the public agent field carries our street address and not yours, and a reminder shows up before the June deadline.
Straight about the price, though. $99 is not the market floor, because BetterLegal publishes $90. We are among the lowest flat annual rates in Maine, which against roughly $596 hardly changes your decision, but we would rather you heard it from us.
What It Takes to End the Quarterly Cycle in Maine
One form, by mail, and a fee Maine wrote into statute. 5 M.R.S. ยง 103 sets the charge for a statement of appointment or change of agent at $35 for a for-profit entity, with a lower figure carved out for nonprofit corporations under Title 13-B, which is not you if you run an LLC. The document is Form CLK/RA 3, and it goes to the Division of Corporations, UCC and Commissions, the entity-records office of the Maine Secretary of State. Expedited handling is sold separately at $50 for next-day and $100 for same-day.
Quitting first is the classic mistake, so do not make it. The form has to name your incoming agent, which means the signup comes before the mailing, and Swyft Filings stays on the record as your agent until the state processes the change. Sign, mail, confirm, then cancel. Our change of agent guide covers the form itself.
One thing the quarterly billing does in your favor: whenever you decide to move, the next invoice is at most about three months away, so there is very little prepaid time to strand. Filing now costs you less in sunk value than walking away from an annual plan mid-term would.
